Our Daily Bread

I'm laying here wondering why things aren't free could it be society blundering that could be the key I do not condone the behavior of ancient Rome yet they had entertainment that didn't require a payment I'll stay on that subject a particular aspect it was offered to the Plebs Patricians and Equestrians regardless of their threads Something when awry with Adam Smith's stand a result of a greedy clan this stuff just went through my head "Give us this day our daily bread"

Nowadays little or nothing comes for free! When I was young families shared with those who could not afford...at least they received "their daily bread". Regards // paul

'Free' is the elusive dream. Wonderful to ponder; impossible to implement. Oh, well. Food for thought here, Angela. ~ Utopian

The Romans had entertainment that did not require a payment - unless you were the one being eaten by lions! Ha! That made me laugh actually.

I am from an age when the cost of dying was having loved ones to do the burying, or light the fire, so really can't believe what it has cost 230,000 Americans to be buried this year! More to think about, Angela! Aloha! Rico

Sometimes I wonder how greed entered this world with such a force. The richer a person is the more he wants. But on death he takes nothing with him. World sickness. Important poem. ~~

Thank you, Victor. You're right. When we leave here we take nothing with us :)

Market driven forces, have made the planet full of greed, Angela, your poem asks a fair question, and the poetry is so good.
