ORPHAN WORLD

Different worlds Different times Growing up In our minds Neither here nor there Ambivalence reigned Father ruled Mother gained No holding No cuddling Sin running Reason befuddling Sickness and disease Chaos ordered in line Six days left To leave it all behind What's ahead More of the unknown Just a basket of fruit Showing how creation has grown Written by Trudy Schrader on 01-27-2024

Trudy, Your poem left me in deep contemplation, adrift in the echoes of my own memories. The way you present time and perception, these "different worlds" swirling within the mind's eye, it felt like you plucked a piece straight from my heart. The lines about ambivalence, the Father's hold and the Mother's distance, felt so deeply. And then, the descent into "sin running" and "reason befuddling," a descent I know all too well. Great poem! - Blessings, Daniel

Mama God (Holy Spirit) has been doing a deep search in my heart. How stupid of me to believe I didn't need maternal (original) love, personally, in order to pour forth creative love to my children. That's orphan spirit. Then I saw it. This world has been without parents, but the next one has relationship restored.
