In life and nature orange is all around us, just ordinary orange,
orange cats, nothing special, orange leaves we kick out of the way;
marigold flowers and we just walk by, ordinary things in life,
tiger lily's grow on the side of the road, perhaps we think them weeds.
an apricot, honey sunset, do we stop to gaze, or rush away,
just ordinary orange things in our world, a tangerine fish in the sea;
swimming in the filigree coral, a marmalade coloured bird singing,
I used to think of myself as ordinary, ordinary could have been my name.
of no special quality or interest, unexceptional, plain, inferior,
just an ordinary orange girl, but then suddenly like an orange flower;
blooming under the orange tinted sun, I blossomed, and became,
exceptional and beautiful, and like the orange cat, I do not need to be told.
I just know that I am beautiful inside, my spirit is a marigold glow,
so ordinary orange is quite beautiful, if you bother to stop and behold.
