Orchids

The orchids in the Garden show, So gorgeous, on display, Must wonder what they’re doing there In colorful array. For it’s a long way off from where They usually grow, Where animals and insects Are the creatures that they know. Yet here the crowds come traipsing To take photographs and gawk, For orchids aren’t native to The boroughs of New Yawk. I’m sure they’d rather be back home In jungle/forest setting, But maybe they’re enjoying The attention that they’re getting.

Beautiful flowers without scents to go with them, like roses or carnations. As for my poem about the rabbit for Easter dinner, I love it; it tastes like chicken. I do enjoy chocolate but as a diabetic I eat only the best chocolate and milk chocolate isn't. / M

yes, i was surprised by the lack of scent at the orchid show. i guess they have enough going for them! ~ i was once served rabbit at a moroccan restaurant but couldn't bring myself to try it. i agree about milk chocolate - not worth the calories...

wow, jan! it's hard to raise orchids. i have two of them (both gifts) and the little one is currently flowering (miraculous because i have the opposite of a green thumb). the garden show was amazing...
