Optimistically Thinking
Oh, it will be a lonely night
But at least for now my heart feels right
No longer will my lips be held tight
To keep from uttering words of contrite
Tonight, instead of what ifs repeated
And optimism quickly depleted,
I will finally feel like I'm completed
Instead of cast aside, worn and defeated
But until the break of day,
there is nothing more to say
Retriring now to wish the night away,
I realize that things really are okay.
