Open Eyes
Open your eyes
Take a breath
What some find in words
Others find in time
I hold no regrets
I'm glad it was you
You opened my eyes
To a life born anew
You've shown me happiness
And pain
But I'll never forget
The lesson taught last
Those that live life
Without walls or protection
We love the deepest
And fall the hardest
I fell hard
And the thought pushes me through
I don't regret you
Even after everything I've gone through
I still believe in what I held true
It's never too late to fight
But you can't always fight alone
You reminded me of that
All there is to say
Is thank you
For every memory
Lodged in my brain
Like a bullet, going for the kill
It would be a lie
If I said I didn't miss you
But like a winter chill
After a summer of love
I hate what you've become.
