Open and Closed

How do I feel when I see things differently? Do I see you as less? Am I somehow more? Minds flirting on the edge of understanding. Blocked by inconsistancies. Seeing attacks where none exist. Where does my heart lie? If I hear you will both our minds open? Will we recognize the limits of our understanding? Yesterday we were less than today Tommorow we may be more Perhaps we may be less Will we hold tightly to our predudices? There is much we will never know We desire connection with the infinite This can not be all that exists Each connection pushes us towards God Each break pushes us away Nothing exists on it's own I do not wish to be alone I want to be open to all Still I am closed to so much

Hey Rick! (heard that's what you want to be called by all your friends !) Haven't been around much lately but I'll be jumping back to the Soup with both feet shortly! This one was a baring of your soul... could have me writing this! Jack

We are born alone and we die alone. It is beautiful when you search for compassion and understanding, but it`s not so bad when you are alone with your thoughts. There is something so dignified and beautiful in solitude! I wish a happy New Year!

For me I never feel alone, my Savior is always with me even when I choose to ignore his presence. I do enjoy solitude with him, that is the time I am most creative.. Thanks for commenting Vasna.

Very true of all of us I'm sure, I have been enjoying our small discourse! The choice of form was intentional to give just the affect you discribed recieving so I am VERY glad you made that comment, I sucessed in my attempt. I would like you to know, when I commnet on content or form it is never my intent to hurt only to help. Recently a comment I made was called sarcastic, you know I don't think I even know how to be sarcastic? I'd love to keep up our dialogue. Light & Love

Hi Deb I personaly have not found you to be Sarcastic. you tend to be very direct. I find for myself I learn the most from people who hold different views than my own. My intention is always to be respectful although I realize I am capable of stepping over the line (Although never intentionaly.) Happy to continue our conversations.

I love this Richard! The inevitability of thought as regards to our limited connections can drive us up the wall. We want to embrace yet we are wary of rejection. We want to encompass yet some are simply not fold members. This makes for good introspection. Very well penned!

I think there are, most lie within ourselves. The only way we can know more is to connect with someone beyond ourselves. He also exists within each of us so sometimes looking inward helps us see outward.

God will open them all. He likes free access, lol. When you are closed to something, you are closed to God. Great poem!
