Only the Poet Knows
Unheard are the melodies
playing only for the composer
his fingers to the piano keys
sending the music to your ears.
The scene exists in his mind
only for an artist's vision
then inspiration you will find
when he applies paint to canvas.
I hear the words inside of me
which your ears are unable to
yet, you will see what I see
when I put it on the page.
