Only Child
ONLY CHILD
People think only children are easy to spoil.
They take note when these children
lose their temper and boil,
because it establishes what they believe
only children need,
a firm spanking so they will learn to take heed.
When speaking about them,
folks imply that they pout.
No one gives this child
the benefit of the doubt.
They are thought to be more spoiled than the best,
because they never have to share their presents
like the rest.
There are those who say they are selfish
and cannot share.
These people believe that to get their way
they'll scream and glare.
I know one thing about them
which makes me smile.
No one remembers, but
God is an only child.
