An avalanche of fears held him frozen in time. And staring through his tears, his eyes locked onto mine. Quickly wiping his cheek, he hollered, "go away!" And his face looked so bleak, I wept for him that day. Denouncing God and life, he whispered a sad plea. And cut deep with his knife, mumbling, "just let me be!" He wished to end it all, 'twas nothing I could do. And yet, I placed a 911 call though his chances were few. His story has become just one more tragic tale. And finding death had come, the sirens stopped their wail. (Quatrain) 8/28/2015

This is such a well narrated tale. Great rhythm, it has the feel of a ballad. Superbly done, Emile.

Not 'it', but 'I'. I don't know how such typos appear, when I send comments they are perfectly written ... CayCay

a very sad one, Emile. When a person has reached this dark place, they mean business! I have known a few who tried to kill themselves (with pills) but in the end they wanted to live because they called up loved ones to let us know what was going on after they took the pills. Two or three times this has happened with people I have known. Fortunately they did not really want to die.

Hey Emile, stopped by for a visit. My goodness - this is such a hauntingly twisted work of art from you. The deeply felt pain of this lost soul. Such a powerful expression of the inner torment. Well done! Be Blessed, Neva

I have to respectfully disagree with the comment made by James. I would say a powerful piece of poetry...but "Lovely" ? Errrr...NOooo. However, Emile, nicely written all the same. A difficult subject! My very best regards, Emile! :) john

Lovely poem Emile, but what a terrible event this would be to experience. I hope for you that this is fiction.

Thank you Jadazzle, I agree it is heartbreaking and yet it goes on every day unnoticed by most. Emile.
