One Minute

If you should ever return with promises of long walks and holding hands, with the thought that your heart would cease beating without my lips kissing yours, Then I surrender this soul to the journey of our forever. If for one moment you remembered the rain and the tears shared in this tragedy of long ago, and woke up with dreams of me chasing you along the secret spaces of heaven we shared, Then I'd cease to believe in broken promises in rain-soaked tears cried for you and the darkness you shaped around us, and in everything sad, like the moon during my desolate walks without us. If for one minute, your heart would beat for me again, then this lifetime would be that minute of forever.

You have nice simple wording that collectively conveys a vivid set of images to the minds of any readers. This is a decent submission.

Welcome to PoetrySoup Debbie. I know this is a late welcome but, I have some very pressing matters going on at the present time. I hope to be back and at full speed in the next couple of weeks. Until then please keep writing and sharing your poetry. Love, Carol
