One For the Man

Sometimes as a child you ran. Sometimes you ran as fast as you can. Sometimes you ran to kick the can. Sometimes you ran. Sometimes you ran from the man. Not 1970’s “The Man”. You ran from the man with the belt in his hand. When you ran you didn’t have a plan. Sometimes you ran. Sometimes you ran back to where you began. Sometimes you ran because you were overran. Sometimes you ran to become a man. A coward as a man you still ran. You ran to plant a bomb according to plan. Sometimes you ran to tint your stalker van. Sometimes you ran from the man. Sometimes you ran. Now you ran from the 1970’s man. You keep running man, run as fast as you can. Sometimes there’s a white and black sedan. Sometimes there’s the slug of a sniper man. Sometimes you’ll fall into our plan, Like tar and feathers in a fan. Sometime you’ll wonder why you ever ran. You better keep running man.
