One Day On the Beach
I saw the sun
and damn it was bright
As it broke through the morning
and cancelled the night
It painted the heavens
a soft pastel glow
With orange and pink
now stealing the show
It shone on the water
reflecting the blue
The beach wore a tint
that was shiny and new
Then climbed in the sky
throwing heat to the ground
Where so little shade
anywhere could be found
It strolled on its path
as it went on its way
Bringing its light
till the end of the day
Then in a show
of spectacular sight
It bid farewell
to the returning night
