My doll was gone So pretty So pink I cried My doll was always with me by my side The night was safe With Dolly Beside One day I cried No more doll Bleeding paintings hanging on walls Childhood all gone Stolen like the doll My life as it was; undone Things you never see He did those to me I closed my eyes Dreamed of the skies When I was alone Sorry mother I cried I huddle inside my cupcake dreams My blankets and screams Secrets bleeding slowly Weeping away in streams Then one day Later on I saw him, way way way over there I do not remember The events, when they all stared All I know is I acted and I dared Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh They said I was crazy I know this not to be true I knew exactly what to do I envisioned the day I could be a warrior princess and slay I smile now In my white quiet room Oh yes I am safe here now Shhhhhhhhhhh little darling More important You are safe now too

A profoundly dark and layered piece made more intensely felt by the use of words usually associated with youthful innocence. I do like the power and hope that slowly builds toward the ending...otherwise I would be a wreck! You are a master craftsman Arthur, you tackle the unthinkable with great care and grace. Brilliantly penned, once again shining light where it is most needed and deserved. I have missed you and your writing :-) blessings, lynn

Incredibly dark, powerful and strong... I read this, and I understand! Including the little doll and princess inside. I like this a lot.

Such a horrific tale of justice and how it can be twisted to resemble guilt. Very creepy and skin crawling good.

Oh this poem gave me goosebumps...Sometimes We say -What a murderer/killer/lunatic a person is never knowing the whole story. Not all the people who take justic in their hands are lunatics or murderers...Sometimes they are just tryimg to defend themselves from people .They were abused for too long not to take revenge amd find their own peace..Im sure if Iam in their position I might act the same. Im glad this woman feels safe now..at least in your poem. Many out there r still being abused .A fave.

Thanks Charmaine, I hope I am never faced with such a dilemma and feel for those who suffer under abuse.
