On Writer's Block

Perhaps I should write about something besides love although my freethinking pen is attached to my heart a battle I cannot win... I seek to be a writer assassin but I cannot slay the muse or force her to show up I must pamper her squeeze her and kiss her for all of her inspiration... Ah, but not to write is short of torture a chaotic and bloody battle If I write I find inner peace not writing is death of the soul... Ink on paper arrange and polish add and delete merciless determination... My words my poems are beatings of my heart put to paper... It's a sad thing when one gets writer's block such frustration and tears fortunately for me I don't have it....

Awesome work! Really enjoyed reading. My very first poem Blank Page is about writer's block. You are lucky not to have it! Your verses flow nicely. Thanks for sharing and reviewing my work! Always, Laura

ooo on writers block.. I know this cold case very well... LOL, i say cold cause it has it's freezing moments. enjoyed the thought // writing about something else either than love. Sometimes all love poems are good but the same. I love a little twist every now and then. Like the candy... :-) anyways.. love the sound of your beating heart on paper... always~ Linda

haha Ken, attached to your heart --what a line. I happen to write randomly. I have nothing but a few poems of my own on the Skat account. I can't find the right fountain Pen. My niece Royal (pd's) daughter writes more than I ever will. I'm jealous, cuz im the one who found and introduced the poetry soup to Irma oops I meant Linda. twahaha. anyways I failed on the dandelion poem. no one ever jumped in to save me. now that was frustrating. cheers to you. Skat

Excellently penned Ken! Writer's block is painful when it hits a writer. I like the way you've brought out the torture of not writing - even when it's tough to write is way better than to not write. I also like the ending- most poems I've read on writer's block is of writers lamenting on its effects on them - this one gives a refreshing take on the subject. Well done.
