On Her Own

Who are you? I had someone ask. I replied I am a girl with a past. I am the girl that has fallen more times then she likes to count. I am the girl that people talk about in town. I am the girl who has felt pain, and the one that gets most of the blame. I have been around, and promise I have a story to tell. This might be a story that you might not understand very well, unless you lived it yourself. It’s a story nevertheless my friend. Wisdom has come from my journey; sometimes walking this rocky road in a hurry. I have had all a girl could possibly want; to losing it all to a life sucking scum; Living like some homeless bums. I have seen and felt it all, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Sell my soul just so I can eat, or have a comfortable place to sleep. Having a husband that leaves me emotionally beat, but refuses to let him defeat me. I know very well of my sins, but not giving up. My demons will not win. So who am I? I am the woman that finally seen some light. I am the woman that still has the fight. I'm going to be the woman, which once she is completely free, never letting another man have control over me. Or anything else that might be. I'm the woman who learned from her mistakes, one who now knows a fake. I am one who will have it all again. I am someone who will stand up for what she believes in. I am someone who will help a desperate hand, or wipe the tears for a friend. I am the one that came up with a plan. Not depending on anyone for support. I'm the woman comfortable being a dork, and being able not to look over my shoulder at the store. Gradually as you see, this woman is starting to let go. I'm finally regaining my soul. I am a strong, independent woman that now can proudly stand on her own!!!!
