August 16

I’ll never forget that special Monday,
When a message from you came my way,
It started off just the same,
Until I saw it wasn’t a game.

I gave you my heart,
Right from the start,
Don’t get me wrong I was thrilled,
This love was something I helped build.

Then I knew something was wrong,
Something was there that didn’t belong,
Then came the words “I can’t have you,”
But I knew right then it wasn’t true.

Soon enough you will see,
You will always have me.
