On a Day Just Like Today
On a Tuesday,
Identical in date, save year,
Terror flew in,
Bringing the birth of fear...
Lives snuffed out,
in a blinding flash,
Terror arrived,
in a double crash,
Mighty steel bent,
came tumbling down,
So many lives were spent,
Collapsing to the ground...
The earth trembled
in a low register moan,
The great sleeping tiger,
awoke with anger sewn,
Many years would rattle
With unfed rage,
The mighty tiger,
no more hesitant
to engage...
Sharpening his claws,
Baring sharp teeth,
Would avenge those
innocents,
Laying deep beneath,
Crumbled dreams,
And many a funeral wreath.
