On a Coming Day

I have heard them sneer and jeer At the devotion of the God-believing. I have seen them mock and smear Sacred evidences I am receiving. I have thought to respond in kind— To lash out in righteous indignation. But Christ’s counsel tends my mind And I tolerate every accusation. It is futile to enter into debate For they know what they know is so. We will meet again at Peter’s gate. Then they will know, then they will know.

I like your poem, its flow and rhymes. I won't comment on your beliefs or theology. That I leave to God Almighty on Judgement Day. / M

Maurice, Thank you for graciously accepting my poem based on its alleged poetic merits. I would probably be well-advised to avoid religion-based subject matter (politics, too).
