Jim I like the use of economy here. The poem captures the moment well and does not pretend to be anything other that a poem that want to instill an image in the mind of the reader. I like the way that you have measured this poem without making anything look forced. The five sylables create enough a good feeling in the reader as each of the lines home through its image. (I wonder if a colon on the end of the third line might not make the poem look better?)
