Ole Country Home
Warm humid air
Crickets chirping and cicadas humming.
Birds singing and wind gently blowing.
Sweet scent of flowers mixed in with home,
the smell of hickory smoke.
Got the horses neighing, and lambs baying,
the cats a-meowing and the dog might be howling.
the rockers creakin' and the door is squeakin',
as the ford rumbles on down our old dirt road.
Gotta glisten on the grass, from the rain that has passed,
the sun shining warm and bright,
a vision in my mind
of an ole' summer day,
cant wait to dream of summer nights.
