Old Love Gone
You think you know but you don't have a
clue
A love like mine is meant for you
I'm willing to go all the extra miles
And willing to wait to see your smiles
A heart like mine, it shouldn't be wasted
You'd find that out if we'd just get
acquainted
Hard and tough on the exterior
Gentle and loving on the interior
Years have gone by since true loves
flourished
It has a need to be carressed and
nourished
Gone are the days of a simple life
Where life was a journey, husband and
wife
Today's generations are all bout
possession
No longer of love, faith, and compassion
Measuring love in terms of money
Spending more and more to keep your
honey
Most people don't write words anymore
Worried bout facebook and sexting, just
wanting to score
I'm not perfect, I'm not better
Hiding and hoping. Always the fretter
These words I write are just for me
But I've been told that they hold the key
To all the secrets I keep in my chest
For that one who's better than the rest
We all have someone for us out there
The perfect one that will choose to care
