Old Love

Old Love When first we met, that fateful day Down on the farm, while making hay I did not love you, no... not yet That fateful day when first we met With our first kiss my doubts all flew I knew my heart belonged to you In your strong arms I found sweet bliss My doubts all flew with our first kiss. For always now our life to share. Forsake all others, be a pair. We tied the knot, and took a vow Our life to share for always now. Still side by side as years move on, Although the spark of youth has gone The glow of love, it never died. As years move on still side by side. Swap Quatrain--lines 1&4 in each stanza, swapped.

They say youth is wasted on the young, Margaret. At least love is most appreciated by those who have lived long enough to realize how lucky they are. Great poem! Love, Carolyn
