Before my freedom I knew captivity When you see the best in me Know there was once the worst With the presence of my character Strongly resilient and seemingly buoyant A realisation of my potential developed it With that smoke you see behind me Know that I have set fire to the demons that taught me fury That soot I clasp So dearly in the urn of my past It is not mine to bury and forget Neither is it mine to bury and mourn But mine to clasp and hold As the factory that built me, whole
