Old Anxieties
He remembers
When his marriage
Was in trouble
And he remembers
When he did
Everything he
Possibly could
For her
On Mother’s Day
And at the end
Of that day,
Before putting
The kids to bed,
She looked into
His eyes
And said hey,
Thanks for today,
And then she
Kissed him
On the forehead,
And now that
He’s alone,
He sure is glad
That he no longer
Has to worry
About his marriage
Being in trouble.
