Yet countless lizards, snakes, and frogs as well as insects thrive,
enjoying baby hummingbirds ingesting them alive,
while often peckish jays and crows the living fledglings eat,
and squirrels, skunks, and chipmunks mince the conscious, feeling meat,
as rhymesters and romanticists in love with "Mother Earth"
full fancy children in the wild possessing zero worth.
