Odyssey

ODYSSEY Sometimes feel I’m in a boat with a rudder and engine, But no home port or destination, always journeying, Frequently plumbing to check depth under my keel, Always keeping an eye on the weather for storms Which might blow me onto a new course without warning; With occasional dockside pauses for refueling or repairing Because the decks are not as watertight as they once were And the engine needs attention more often. The boat is no beauty, but it’s stable and seaworthy - Probably good for another trip or three : And it’s roomy enough for one extra passenger, Always space inside for one more. . . . for you.

syd, the enjambment between stanzas is something i haven't seen very often before, and i don't want to second guess your motive for it ...but it works well in this piece for me and keeps the flow very smooth while allowing breaks to gather my thoughts...i love the silent aspect of this.. in my "disabled control" work, the man talks of his wife.. a difficult one for me to do... your piece is divine! :) huggs!
