"What is an odyssey without a quest?" - quote by author of this poem Over land and mountains, valleys and hills, Daring on your own – to cross a vast sea, You told me you had done this all just for thrills. Surely you’d had other reasons to travel So far from home and for two whole years. Even now, I feel my life with you unravel. Your wanderlust engulfs you, blinding you to my tears.

This has a rich message. The odyssey was great adventure, but you explore the other side along side. The way the acrostic functions here works in a remarkable way that will rumble around in my head for a while. Thanks for opening my thought process. This applies to all kind of things...obsession with work or anything else for that matter. It could even apply to one's medical journey so to speak. This means a lot to me.

For some reason I thought of John Denver and his first wife Annie when I read this. His song Goodbye Again comes to mind. I could never leave mine behind to pursue selfish dreams. You poetically help us feel the emotions of the one left behind

A beautiful acrostic. But I sense a touch of melancholy in this ."Your wanderlust engulfs you, blinding you to my tears." You miss somebody whose presence you long for. All the Best Andrea...

Thanks for sharing this. God bless you. Meanwhile, I greet you with a Joyous New Year with this prayer from the Bible in Numbers 6:24-26, "The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace."

I can feel the depth of this acrostic poem, dear Andrea, it's very heartfelt within such few words! Very true, what's an Odyssey without a quest? I was intrigued just after reading that.. absolutely brilliant.. "Even now, I feel my life with you unravel.Your wanderlust engulfs you, blinding you to my tears" This really stirred my soul, dear poetess.. What an incredible write! An amazing take for the contest too.. The emotions that you've woven here are truly poignant and somewhat introspective..

Oh, Andrea, your review of my high school drama class that this book entertained us for nearly a month, would have caught his eyes first, of habit, after your reading in front of the class, his ears would be second. Yours kept my smile to memories hold; and after he's given you a quest, I'll ask you after school, how was your odyssey at the principals--mine was The Andromeda Strain. Aloha, William
