Ode to the Great One
Listen well all of you
To an ode that must be told
It is what I now behold
An ode to who?
O why an ode to you!
Mighty Picasso, the one who’s works flew.
With your softly painted hue
And your creative sense of brush
O stop! Your romantic work is making me blush!
Why you could turn boring old paper
Into something far much greater
And although you loved many
Evidence shows that you have painted plenty
Paintings of fifteen thousand
You truly are something I would have never imagined
You gave the world stars of beauty to see
To be or not to be?
Why Picasso, you did not care!
You merely wanted the ability to share
To share a world, beyond compare
O Picasso, how you speak
Giving your audience a treat.
And so I thank you,
For what you have done
Making art seem as if sung.
