October In the Air
With colors changing as winter is in route
The trees stand proud as their leaves
Take on a whole new meaning
Knowingly possessing the power
To capture my being.
This time of year is for all to see
It is a time for new life to be born
As winter is about to be freed
Slowly it greets us with each new morn.
The leaves must change
Their colors blending so
Oranges, golds and browns
Oh such a sight to behold.
Enjoy them now
For toworrow they may be gone
They won't last forever
Not like the words of a song.
Try viewing them with a loved one
Enjoy all they have to give
Breathe deeply as you look upon them
How many colors do you see?
If by chance you are here next year
When again they display
Their beauty for all to see
Will you still have your loved one
There with you
Or will you have to enjoy
Their beauty alone
And through a blinded tear.
