Ochre Field

Ochre Field The ritual Of hailing Ra Begins anew each morning. Golden faces straighten to meet The first rays of their namesake. Dew-tipped petals Surround the ebony Cyclops As each giant flower awakens. They stand Vigilant in the field As blossomed monoliths of life. They sway In tune with Mariah, Waiting to entice the pollen seekers.

Beautiful sunflower imagery Lin. Thanks so much... In Middle English the sun was the day's eye or daisy; but this poem captures the true flower

Hi Jeff. I’m in the Denver airport on a 3 hour layover which means I won’t get to New Orleans until midnight. Caught a cold on the ship and I’m miserable. WiFi has been hard to find at sea even though I bought extra minutes but now I see you’ve been busy reading my oldies and I thank you for liking my poetry enough to do that. I appreciate you. I won’t get to comment on others until Tuesday. Thank you.

Hi Lin, another excellent piece from your golden pen. Your imagery paints such vivid visions in the mind. I stand within your thoughts and smile. Such a wonderful scene you have painted. Have a wonderful evening. Hugs....Mike. XX
