Ocean

O pearl of life,O eye of world ! From hand of Lord on Earth thou drop The sailors , nymphs ,the lady bird All day and night harvest thy crop By which magic in world thou flow? Who writes on thy waves tales of woe? Thy silver waves all night they moan And break their heads on wide wide shore Thy treasures, temples, caves He own Thy phantoms ships , thy gems, thy roar His angels worship on Thy hills The sun sand worships Him on shore O largest canvas of this world O hue of sky and meadow green He looked at thee From Eden world And paint on Thee His Heaven's scene Thy mighty waves, unfathom deep Why break thee at the shores all life Who left thee that Thou moan doth so Is far off goddess moon thy wife? I fear thee ocean far and wide! I fear thy waves who moan all night! I fear the depth of thy green wounds! I fear thy salty watery sight! Thou mighty , vast , unfathomed deep Who lives in castles of thy heart? Who rows there boats in stormy night? Whom air in moonlit chariots brought ? Thy scary width thy Holy charm With magic pen who on thee wrought? Oh thou the sacred Tear of world With grief thy sandy shores are fraught!
