Observation At Four

I live in a house a house on a street a street with a town all around. The town's on a land and the land's on the earth... a little brown earth in a big blue sky And it turns itself all around.

Yes, I like this form and use it a lot. I suppose I should name it and be famous! (Yawn) Elizabeth

Hi, Jennifer. Thanks for reading my poem. I'm not very active these days- just age, no drama. So I haven't had a look at yours for a while. Will rectify!! Elizabeth

Here I am, and I find your lines intriguing. You’re not in a dry spell. You make your reader see life through a telescopic lens. Now, reverse the order using that magic elixir I sent you in my comment. Wink

A lovely little package of poetry, Elizabeth. Your verse; "a little brown earth in a big blue sky" expresses just how small our world is in the GRAND scheme of things. Wonderful observation at four... wonderful title too! Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

Hi, Harry. I hope you are okay! I'm originally from Ohio but now in Melbourne, so, like you, thank goodness no floods here! Elizabeth

Oh no, not a victim of the horrible floods over there. Elizabeth, i'm dreading the day we are struck with one those rain bombs over here in Perth. Like how you've wrote your poem, though, clever stuff...Harry.

The beauty of your poem and its message lies in its wonderful simplicity and I love it for that. Cheers - Gary

Thank you, Ilene. My four-year old daughter confided this to me after her first day at kindergarten. Elizabeth

It really is that simple...yet we make things so much more complicated. Thinking of vastness...way-out there meaning and purpose...too often neglecting the warmth of dear and near relationships.

Yes, it seems easier to contemplate life on other planets than to deal with my neighbor who needs desperately to talk. My bad, I guess. Elizabeth

The world is always turning. Yet in the scheme of things compared to the universe we are but a grain of sand.

Such a coincidence Elizabeth, I live there too. Lovely, poem and a reminder that we all live here. Isn't it a pity that we all cant act like neighbors? Enjoyed.
