Oak
The naked silhouette of a lone oak bleeds into the watercolour sky, as it shifts from a pale blue to a deep orangey-yellow.
Her lazy shadow creeps slowly over the ground, tightly clutching anything in its path.
As the cooling autumn Sun sinks toward the horizon he sets alight any wispy clouds who have strayed too close.
The mighty oak reaches for the yellowing blanket of sky as it drapes the Earth, and the few birds perched among her gnarled, maternal branches, sing out the day in its last fiery moments of light.
