O Light

I meander through this maze called world, seeing darkness everywhere, even in the bright desert sun, my soul ripped by doubt and fear, and utter loneliness, saved only by a sudden wave of love, a flicker of hope-- O Light! O Light! O Light of God! [the Light poetry contest, Regina McIntosh, posted 2/5/20]

The golden thread of hope is a lifeline in the darkness. Your introspection is so beautifully heartfelt and shines in both dark and light emotions - I adore your last impassioned line! Congratulations for your excellent win in Brian's contest, my friend.. ~Susan

Dear Len, sometimes we do feel lost in darkness and when one small positive thing happens in our lives, we embrace it with hope. Your introspective insight in this poem is amazing. Thank you for telling me about your near-death experience. Several other friends have had them as well. The movie "Heaven Is for Real" is a testament to the fact that these things do happen! Hugs, Carolyn
