O Dear Me,
O dear me, dear me
O death has come, he
waits patiently by the door
I try to pretend as if
nothing has happened
as I lie upon the floor
O dear me, dear me
I thought all that matter
should matter no more
for Death has arrived
and he's awaiting
right beside the door
I did my best to outrun
him, by lying on the
floor. Had I done that
before
Surely Death wouldn't
stand there and laugh
his soul out right on
the gloomy floor
O dear me, "dear you!"
He says, "Dare thou not
deceive the presence of
Great Death, for I shall
drag thou away in
My shade!"
"This is a good night,
would you not agree?
I have come not to
judge nor to execute,
Although I did come to
bargain a little favor,
since thou did try to
deceive this Great Death"
"O dear me, dear me,"
I says, "What would it be
that little favor thou said?"
He then replies: "Sit beside
me, frail creature of Earth,
sit beside me and dine with me
on this moonlit sky, as I
have wandered this plane
for aeons before Time
And Time itself can't even be
certain, so dine with me
upon this great Moonshine
and never shall thou see me
again!"
O dear me, dear me,
Passage of moments streamed
so fast, while I sit beside
his Great Death, I fall slowly
into deep sleep, and never shall I
see him again.
