O Come of Course Emmanuel

O come, ok, Emmanuel As handsome as captive be, I lie in lonely exile here, Until you appear, nee. Rather! Rather! Emmanuel, He shall come to me. Rather! Rather! Emmanuel, He shall come see me. O come, the day of spring, come and cheer, Our sprites will activate your glow here, Disperse the gloomy clouds of night, And put all other shadows to flight. Rather! Rather! Emmanuel, He shall come to me. Rather! Rather! Emmanuel, He shall come see. O come, the day of spring, come and cheer, Our sprites will activate your glow here, Disperse the gloomy clouds of night, And put all other shadows to flight. Rather! Rather! Emmanuel, He shall come to me. Rather! Rather! Emmanuel, He shall come see. Rather! Rather! Emmanuel, He shall come to me. Rather! Rather! Emmanuel, He shall come see.

The story of this poem - parody, is that Angi, a carer, when I was in hospital last year until March, she kept her ringtone on whilst working even though it was O Come! O Come! Emmanuel. She knew I am an athiest and exist as somewhat hurt by the church and Christians in the past, so she did not have the right to even accidentally switch it on or have it left on. Her phone rang in the bathroom, often, where I can’t cope with someone saying ‘Jesus’, even as a swear word. Disgusting.

...It happenned 5 times a day, so I told the Patients Council of REH, and they sorted it, immediately, having asked the nurses and I think Consultant if they could prohibit this behaviour. My parents told me that “Jesus...[would] help me” and “The Lord...[would] help me” when I was in the bathroom aged 4-6, everyday, all day. Bedtime too...

...Because they wished for me to assist myself, because that is what I neurologically can do, but wouldn’t let me “without Jesus”. I’m physically disabled, not mentally retarded, and my passion is atheism. Also humanism. Why is this so difficult to understand? Well, I’m not a problem to atheists, but to Christians (health professionals who are), I’m problematic. This should never have happened, and it is a sin that it did. It must not happen to anyone else again, so we must...

...create social work policies in favour of the kids of fundamentalist and some evangelical Christians, by actively rejecting what our parents have to say about us. I have issues in the bathroom and with the toilet, which is only that I don’t want any Christian to be, when I’m in it. I’m fine with the bathroom, completely, it’s just if you put someone who believes passionately in..

...god beside someone who admires Prof Richard Dawkins, you instinctively would not put them both in the bathroom together. It is tragic that she thought she could do this to me, and it is still tragic today that my Care Plan, or, my care and treatment plan, does not specify or include the fact that I suffer from a Developmental Delay, supposedly handled and met at school, which was indeed normal speech at school, from therapists e.g. physio, OT, speech, Nutrition. Thank you.
