Nurses' Day

Today’s the date to thank, in verse, Each health care hero, i.e. nurse. Officially, it’s Nurses’ Day; Let’s send some gratitude their way. Of course, each night we clap and cheer For those who’ve chosen this career But more than that, much more’s their due, So stepping to the plate’s JetBlue. 100,000 pairs of flights The airline’s offered, which invites All health care workers who apply To have the chance, for free, to fly. Now that’s a wonderful reward For something many can’t afford And whether travel’s north or south ‘tis Great JetBlue put its money where its mouth is.

I didn't know this, Nice. I just get to where I'd rather click back to Father Knows Best rather than engross myself in this present state of news. <3 :)

Well done! Now is the time for airlines to stop packing passengers like sardines and to provide seating which isn't encroached, so the nurses are not infected! Aloha! Rico

Great tribute to all the day-in, day-out heroes and heroines in the health-care field. Good to see corporate acknowledgement in place too. Loved your ending, Ilene!

How generous of JetBlue and how thoughtful, but sadly it doesn't change the dangerous nature of their work. Love the last line about putting their money where their mouth is. / M

Wow, what an amazing way to show appreciation to these front line heroes. Heard many stories of nurses being with people holding their hands as they died because families couldn't be with them. Tom

oh how wonderful for the nurses and care workers to be rewarded with such a great gift, they certainly deserve a break and a treat after everything they have done for those in hospital, such a lovely tribute Ilene:-) hugs Jan xx
