Numb

Dreams were what kept her awake, Wished they would come true for her sake. A house full of happiness she wanted, But everyday by screaming matches her hopes were taunted. Staring longingly at moon every night, The monster under her bed was her only fright. Little and naive , unaware of the deep dark world, She kept trying to fit her life in the perfect little mould. Love conquers all is what she believed, Someday she thought all these fights would be relieved. She had no worry , had no care, All she wanted was a little care. But all good things come to an end, To the wrath of life even she had to bend. Forced to grow up too soon, The same way again she never looked at the moon. Taking care of her caretaker , Also dealing with her little brother . She was fearless and selfless, But who knew inside she was a mess. In the end she beared it all , Not a tear though she let fall. Everybody thinks she came out unscathed from it, But she has scars on her soul which from within were lit. Its said 'time heals all wounds ' , 'But does it?' is what echoes all around. It appears as if to the pressures she never succumbed, But only she knows that deep within she's all numb.
