Nowhere Soul
The man standing at the gate
Held out his hand and told me to wait
I watched others going through
He looked at me as though there was nothing I could do
Was it some penance for some crime I once did as a young man or just a kid?
I will not kneel in front of thee!
Every time I took a stand he just simply raised his hand
Time means nothing on this side
Alone to think in the far corners of your mind
What started as a thought soon was to find
That I really did not mind
I took a stand and before I could see
His raised hand lowered behind me
Keep your souls behind the pearly gates
I don't really care about you and your new mates
I'll try the other place down below
I think it's where I should go
To my surprise I got the same welcome there
It seems poetic and somehow fair
that being alone in nowhere is my soul's fate
Well, that suits me just great!
