November Quatrain

In the morning when frost falls upon the autumn flower and the clocks are all turned back casting shadow on an hour, it’s November once again with a quiet footstep rain bringing memories so bittersweet of happiness and gain. With cornucopia of spirit, we are the bountiful of heart golden brown of wonder with no harvesting of wrought. Thankfulness, a specialty that gathers others nigh a time to stop and just look over life below the sky. A quiet month of nature’s dying gracefully with ease As branches shed their clothes in the Oak and Maple trees But in the Southern Hemisphere the Spring is in the air Which goes to show November has variety to share. Rejoice in every time of year, month, day and season Life on Earth each day we live is such a basic reason There is a beauty in each month; November not left out A time of contemplative mood with lots to think about. 11/30/2021 November or December Quatrain Sponsored by: Caren Krutsinger

Janis, what I loved most about your quatrain is the third stanza. What gorgeous thoughts - a cornucopia of spirit, bountiful of heart followed by Thankfulness, a specialty. So poetic, so real, You cite another key to beauty in your last stanza - Rejoice. - those two blend together so nicely. Straight out of 1 Thessalonians. Congratulations on your win.

Absolutely beautiful, Janis. I particularly loved the imagery of "nature's dying gracefully with ease." This reads very much like a winner to me!
