Nothing's Changed

One more year has come and passed Can't believe these 3 years have passed by so fast But not much has changed from the year before I still miss you just as much if not more I've just come to terms with it all Cuz in your memory I stand tall People are always telling me How much of you in me they see And hearing that never gets old From everything I've been told I am nothing short of a little you They see it in everything I say and do And I could not be more proud I smile as the sun comes from behind a cloud Closing my eyes as the sun beats down Thinking back to that last town I drove 6 hours to get to Where I got to see and spend time with you Though part of me still wishes you were here I managed to get over my fear Realizing more and more that you’re in a better place In my heart for you there will always be space And with every year that passes by I will let my words fly A new poem there will always be Cuz a part of you I carry with me I'll say these things over and over again Even though I let go of the anger and pain Your memory I will forever keep In my heart and mind so deep Nothing and no one can make me forget But in my heart I hold some regret All these things I should've said to you When I had the chance to But there is never a single day That I don't look to the skies and say All things in my heart so true Cuz I do still miss and love you!!
