Nothing You Say

Nothing you say will entice me to leave So give me the truths I so desperately need Clever avoidance, my questions, they float And then the unsaid culminates in my throat It must be exhausting, this playful performance Endlessly running and claiming the distance And just for a second, you stop everything Then take off again as I'm closing in You give me these glimpses and insights of you But snatch them away as we get to the truth I'm aching to touch you, set the demons free Nothing you say will entice me to leave
