Nothing More To Fear

People live in fear Dreading what is come Holding on to the good Before the evil dawn I have nothing more now to fear I have lived with fear For the longest time I feared THE time When it would all end When heartache my heart would rend Happiness would turn to pretense And love would be.... without recompense I lived in fear so long, so long But THAT time has come and gone I have no fear For the worst HAS come and gone It came and left me undone, U n D o N E There are many things that I feel But none of them is fear, NOT fear For what I feared did come to pass Love was not meant to last, ALAS I have no fear I’m now at peace… Serene, I am…Serene I remain For in the heart unexpectant There is not a trace fear Only….emptiness instead of happiness What of fear? Fear dares not come near.... For I have nothing more to fear. Eileen Manassian

This is moving, for me what I have feared has never been as bad as I imagined. There are so many things I could have experienced and my fears prevented me from taking those steps. I wonder what it would be like to have lived a fearless life.

I am well acquainted with fear, Richard. It sometimes comes to me when I'm about to fall asleep. You are right. Sometimes the fear is much worse than the reality of taking a change. :) Thank you for your lovely visit and support.

Love the poem -- Fear is a good early warning system to possible danger -- but a very poor master and guide. Fear is a relentless foe but as you have shared Love conquers all. Fearless Love my dear little one and big hugs.

Dear David...Little One thanks you for your visit to my poem on fear. I have lived through fear and have missed out on the beauty of the moment....What will happen...will happen, so what can fear possibly do to change that outcome...Nothing but steal our joy. Thanks for your visit. Always appreciated.

I used to fear growing old alone. Now I don't worry and just give of my love knowing things will be fine....that heart will be full again....hugs Tim

I feared my Mama's death...all my growing years...Seeing her health as deteriorating. She passed away.... I also fear growing old...I see the ravages of time...there isn't a thing I can do about it....and as for people changing...and loving growing cold...Yea, seen it all. Fear just makes us miss out on the moments we have...Thanks for the visit, Tim.

:) Thanks, Nette. I write when I'm happy and when I'm sad... :) There are many facets to my character, but writing from the heart...is what I like to do best. There is a piece of me in everything I write. Thanks for the visit. Hugs

I pray you will fill the emptiness you feel with new beginnings. I read Frost, too. A great poet whose words still ring true today. My best to you this Christmas season and may God pour out His blessings on you.
