Not You

I’m as crazy about you as I am because of you. How many times did I think When it came to you that I was through. Yet every time I see you My heart jumps a little. Days are spent, Nights are dreamt thinking about you. All I want is for you to be there when I wake. But I now know That all I’ve yearned for is a mistake. The same words That carry me through the day, Stab like knives when you’re away. The only thing that hurts More than not having you Is knowing that I can’t. For some reason you still bring me in, You enchant. Like a flame to skin it causes pain. But its the only thing keeping me stable. The only thing making me sane. That I’ve spent years Looking for a soulmate is true. Maybe I’ll find a little relief knowing Its not you.
