Not Yet (Triple Tanka)

squirrels run wild I see it's been so long coming as though they're set free the first faint sense of spring air sewn in March mistakenly hear how they chatter hear how they scold each other who knows the matter? could be released energy that long winter chill set free so i'll out of doors i've put winter's coat away and yet I shiver such a bright sunny day i've thought it spring mistakenly

Boy, March roared out this year for us, dumping another 10 inches of snow before it left. Sounds like a better scene in this poem. Enjoyed the lighthearted feel of this one. Hope spring arrives soon. Thank you for your kind words regarding my poem. Have a nice day. Karen

Absolutely love "Not Yet." I almost thought I wrote it, or, better said, wish I had. Double tanka, did say? I say singular rhythm, singular style, all those great S's. Thank you commenting on just aboutall my poems. Between you and Stacey, I feel so validated, it really doesn't matter who else reads, though I love it when they do, Jeez, we write because we have to, but also to be read

Love the image of the squirrels controlling the outdoor world, Daver. Wish you could come to my house and chase away the squirrels that climb up the screen around my backyard pool. Lying there, you look up and see them over your head. They are cuter when you're looking down at them. GREAT poem! Love, Carolyn
