Not Us

I saw you, My heart did not beat faster, I touched you, It was like hugging a stranger, I talked with you, A normal conversation. Because it wasn't you. The boy I love is gone. His smile is like any other I see, His eyes hold no appreciation for me, His arms are not around my body, His handsome face is like many. And you felt nothing for me, Because I'm not me. I died when you left, And you can see I've changed. Just a shell. And I am afraid that if you come back, So will I. Because I know you will not. I saw you, But how could that be, If you are not you, And I'm not me?
