Not Today
From within we lose our way.
We look for clues inside the past.
But that's no place where we can stay.
Because some things just were'nt meant to last.
The world keeps turning inside this room.
It's hard to know just where you are.
When your cares pile up without a broom.
And hopes hung up on a dark star.
We change direction to find what's left.
Of dreams that filled our hearts with love.
But wake up with a soul bereft.
And one more prayer to God above.
The answer comes without a clue.
While slumber holds you in it's arms.
That's why your mind knows nothing new.
And your left confused by mystery's charms.
