Not On Guard For Thee

God never asked me to stand on guard for thee. And neither should my country to fight for their decree. With none of us as equal as all our countries thought. And those who would wage war when others went and fought. Our parliament of parties, where little sharing's done. A requiem for a true Canadian, were all our parties one.
