Not Here, But Far Away
“Every breath for death is an obligation “
Eternity looked at them
Equalized them with prosperity
& said: “they were brothers”
The goal was a long term goal.
Death took an excuse/ Asked for forgiveness / Stroke it hands - passed through the air on its heels / met the night between mountains / Came back with a body & a wreck in shroud
ruptured the reunion of a family.
The parting was sad / Hearts inflamed /Our eyes sought refuge with tears / Floods ran down cheeks.
With a heart that believes
In God’s will & destiny
I mourn “the name” of the dead
I offer a fellow feeling to “the name” - & to “a beloved brother” - may “the name” live in the highest city of God.
In the key to our apartment/ The flowers in our balcony /
The newspaper & letters/ In our cup of coffee / Death is in them all.
